Guest checkout

Use this guide when a customer wants to place a pickup order without signing in. The reference storefront clearly presents guest checkout on the cart page so first-time customers can order without hitting an account wall.

What this flow covers

  • Starting from the public storefront menu
  • Adding products to the cart
  • Choosing Continue as guest
  • Entering customer contact details
  • Selecting a collection location and pickup time
  • Continuing to payment

Start from the menu

1. Open the storefront homepage

Use the public storefront URL, for example https://nbc.clickcollect.coffee/.

The homepage presents the hero section, category filters, product cards, and an Add to cart action on each sellable item.

2. Add a product to the cart

Select Add to cart on the chosen drink or item. Repeat as needed until the cart contains the intended order.

3. Open the cart

Use the bottom navigation or cart shortcut to move into the cart view.

On the reference storefront, the cart page is where guest checkout begins.

Continue as a guest

4. Review the guest and sign-in options

When the customer is not signed in, the cart shows two clear choices:

  • Continue as guest

The guest option is meant for pickup orders that do not need an existing account.

5. Choose Continue as guest

Use Continue as guest to keep the order moving without Google authentication.

The customer can still provide enough information for payment, fulfillment, and updates.

Capture guest checkout details

6. Enter Customer Name

The guest flow requires a customer name so the order can be identified during collection.

7. Enter WhatsApp or Phone

The storefront prefers a WhatsApp-capable phone number because pickup updates are sent there when available.

If the customer does not want to sign in, this field is the strongest link between the order and future WhatsApp notifications or later order claiming.

8. Add email if available

Email supports contact capture and later account-linking flows, but the key requirement is at least one contact method.

9. Select the collection location

The cart shows the active collection location card, address, and a link to Open Google Maps.

Customers can confirm where they will collect the order before paying.

10. Decide whether to remember the location on this device

The guest flow can remember the chosen location locally on the device to speed up repeat guest checkout later.

11. Choose pickup timing

The cart supports:

  • ASAP
  • Scheduled pickup

The ready time is shown in the cart before payment.

Good practice

  • Use a real WhatsApp-capable number if the customer wants order updates.
  • Keep the collection location accurate because it is saved onto the order snapshot.
  • If the customer expects repeat ordering and order history, direct them to sign in instead of staying a guest.
